Also, they both got to experience being abused by their husbands. By season 8, Sansa has earned to manipulate nearly as well as Cersei in season 1, but she does it without the ubiquitous sex that Cersei used. Even after taking down the slave cities, getting a whole army, and becoming the ruler of Meereen, it was now that she was in the Great Game, and that this was the real challenge. This quote is one of my favorites because it really shows just how much more Daenerys had to overcome for her crown. She has an honest conversation with Tyrion right before they’re getting ready to go, and he asks her if she’s afraid. And when she chose Tyrion to be the Hand of the Queen, we were even more hyped. When she finally got the ships to sail across the Narrow Sea to Dragonstone in “The Winds of Winter,” at the end of Season 6, we were all hyped. Let’s pretend what happened to Daenerys didn’t happen. You just sent the most powerful man in Westeros to bed without his supper. Okay, let’s pretend the finale of Season 8 didn’t happen.
